Hey there! I’m just throwing up a quick post today because I came up with a bomb new breakfast (anytime?) drink, and I’m too excited to not post immediately. Have you heard of a frappuccino? HA! Everyone has heard of a frappuccino. Except maybe my boyfriend. He was born yesterday.

ANYWAYS. If frappuccinos were healthy, I’d be slurping them down on the daily. Caffeine. Cold. Thick. Sweet. Sign me up.

The problem with frappuccinos is that they’re full of sugar. You feel great while you’re drinking them, but almost immediately after you’re ready for a nap. And then some more sugar.

So I’ve come up with a solution. And not only is it less sugary, but it’s also packed with protein.

Get out your blender and give this simple, healthy recipe a go!

Ingredients:

8 oz. water

4 oz. unsweetened almond milk

3 cubes ice

2 heaping tbs collagen peptides (I use Great Lakes)

2 tbs instant coffee (I use Café Bustelo)

Directions:

Throw everything in your food processor and blend until smooth. Serve over ice.

Variations:

Sweeter: try adding a pitted Medjool date or two

Creamier: increase the almond milk and decrease the water

Thicker: add more ice and/or collagen peptides

Stronger: add more instant coffee

Caffeine-free: substitute instant coffee for Dandy Blend
